Waldegrave is looking forward to welcoming prospective trainee teachers for our School Experience day on Wednesday - a chance to observe school life 和 sit in on lessons.

Waldegrave reports the assessment of student performance 和 progress to parents/carers twice a year.  Our teacher assessments will be informed by a combination of classwork, In addition we hold 父母的协商会议gs for each year group where there is an opportunity for parents/carers to discuss their child's progress with teaching staff.

Starting points are based on a combination of KS2 SATs 和 cognitive ability tests. Students are expected to make one step of progress at each monitoring point (two in each year). Students are taught in mixed ability classes for all subjects 和 there is no limit to what they can achieve. We encourage a growth mind-set – anything is possible with enough time, hard work 和 determination.

根据他们在进度表上的最终位置, the table below gives an indication of what students may expect to achieve in GCSE 和 then the possible progression at KS5

Level 3 courses such as BTEC, apprenticeship or A levels. GCSE grades may be taken into account on University applications.

Level 2 programmes such as level 2 BTEC or apprenticeships.

In year 9 our students start on GCSE mathematics For other subjects progress is measured on the scale used for KS3.

In Years 10 和 11 we grade achievement using GCSE points (ranging 1 to 9) 和 use this to measure achievement against targets. Students receive regular feedback through class assessments 和 marked work.

In sixth form the targets for student progress 和 achievement are set using a system called ALPS 和 are based on attainment at GCSE. Students receive regular feedback through assessments 和 their reports compare working at grades to ALPs target grades.
